TAEKWON-DO HISTORY

1965
Began training in Penang Tae Kwon Do Association in Malaysia. Trained under pioneer Grand Master Choi Chang Keun first generation ITF instructor from South Korea known as CK Choi.

1969

Trained in Penang, Malaysia under pioneer Grand Master Kim Jong Chan, first generation ITF instructor from South Korea, known as JC Kim.

1972
Represented Malaysia TKD Association, in team sparring & pattern in the ITF 2nd Asian Taekwon-Do championships held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

1972
Moved to Toronto, Canada at the recommendation of Grand Master JC Kim who recommended me to Grand Master Park Jong Soo as an instructor. Began instructing in Toronto in October.

1972
In the fall of 1972, competed in the open TaeKwon-Do & Karate championship in Ontario. Won first place in Black belt, all weight free sparring & pattern.

1975
Opened the first ITF, TaeKwon-Do school in Ste-Rose, Quebec Canada.

1980
With Gen. Choi, in Santa Barbara, USA participated in correcting the stances of the Master instructors from various country who contributed to the first Encyclopedia of TaeKwon-Do.

1982 - 1990
Travelled with Gen. Choi to assist in seminars and competitions throughout North America and Europe.

1984
Appointed by ITF Gen. Choi as Director of the International TaeKwon-Do Federation.

1989
Tested by, and promoted to 7th Dan by, Gen. Choi, pattern and free-sparring.

1989
Elected to be the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the International TaeKwon-Do Federation

1996
Promoted to 8th Degree Black Belt by International Taekwon-Do Federation.

2003
Promoted to 9th Degree Black Belt by Malaysian Global Taekwon-Do Federation.
